Adopters must be prepared to provide for their dog\u2019s ongoing needs, including food, toys, supplies, training, regular veterinary visits, vaccines, heartworm and flea\/tick preventatives, and any unexpected medical care throughout the dog\u2019s life.<\/p><p data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"806\">An <strong data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"655\">adoption fee<\/strong> is required and must be paid in full at the time of adoption. This fee is non-negotiable and helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need.<\/p><p>While not a requirement for adoption, we strongly suggest purchasing pet health insurance with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fetchpet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fetch<\/a> or<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trupanion.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Trupanion<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8c136c6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8c136c6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Adoption Requirements:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c2e6f0b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c2e6f0b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul role=\"list\"><li class=\"body\">Complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shelterluv.com\/matchme\/adopt\/FTFR\/Dog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">adoption\u00a0application<\/a><\/li><li class=\"body\">Participate in a phone interview with our Adoptions Director<\/li><li class=\"body\">Provide references of close friends and\/or associates who can speak about the type of dog owner you are or will be<\/li><li class=\"body\">Provide the name of your current (or potential) veterinary doctor and veterinary clinic where the dog will be treated<\/li><li class=\"body\">Agree to make arrangements to pick up the dog in the town where he\/she is being fostered<\/li><li class=\"body\">Have all of the necessary dog supplies in your home and ready for your new friend when he\/she arrives to your home for the first time<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a7655a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a7655a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Applications are processed as quickly as possible, but the review and approval process may take <strong data-start=\"1590\" data-end=\"1608\">up to one week<\/strong>.
